Giveaway winner: Lace frame jewelry holder

Our winner for the lace frame jewelry holder with an alleged retail value of $48 is Michele P.

Congratulations, Michele. I'll E-mail you for your particulars.

Graduation Giveaway: Lace frame jewelry holder

June is the month for graduation parties, and Bromeliad Living will be giving away a lace frame jewelry holder that you can gift to your favorite girl graduate (or keep for yourself. I won't tell.)

The DIY tutorial for this project was inspired by Urban Outfitter's Sepia Lace Frame Jewelry Holder, (pictured above) which originally retailed for $48. I gave that one away but have since made another just for all you lovely readers (or one of you, at least.)

To enter the giveaway, just be a follower and leave a comment below. Due to shipping and size and all that, I am limiting this one to U.S. residents only with a huge apology to the rest of the planet.

Ruffled rose pillow giveaway winner

Our ruffled rose pillow givewaway winner is Elizabeth from I Heart Sunny Days, the second commentor at this post.

Elizabeth, if you E-mail me your snail mail address to bromeliadliving at gmail.com, I'll send the pillow off to you.

Earth Day Giveaway - Ruffled rose pillow

Welcome to my second giveaway. In honor of Earth Day, we'll be giving way the ruffled rose pillow I made from a bridesmaid dress.

As my regular readers know, every day is pretty much Earth Day at this blog. I'm all about reusing what I've got rather than buying new. This is somewhat to save the planet but more so to save a buck. And I just dislike waste in general.

Anyway, first a disclaimer. This an upcycled product from a hack seamstress. The center of the pillow turned out weird, and the seams were done with black thread since I had no hot pink. And the pillow is a bit lumpy. So if you win, don't be critical.

To enter, leave a comment here. For an extra chance, leave a comment at my how-to tutorial over at examiner.com. Feel free to tweet your heart out. (Although, statistically, it will dimish your chances of winning.)

In other news, Chadwicks is having a 41% off sale for Earth Day. With promo code CH41, you get 41% off one item until midnight tonight. I have dibs on the white slingbacks.

Vintage frog giveaway winner

Our winner is Mary E., who won with her second comment posted over at examiner.com.

Mary, send me your snail mail info at bromeliadliving@gmail.com and we will ship these off to you before your flowers wilt.

Thanks to everyone who entered. Despair not. We will have another giveaway later this week.

Vintage flower frog giveaway

In honor of the arrival of spring and in a shameless bid to acquire more followers, Bromeliad Living is hosting its first giveaway - Frogs for Blogs. The winner will receive two vintage floral frogs, pictured below. One frog is grid style and other smaller frog is needle style.

In addition to holding your flowers straight, floral frogs have also been put to use as pencil holders and paper organizers, as Martha Stewart does below.

You can even make a weird spring veggie centerpiece, as I did, with a grid-style frog and lots of asparagus.

To enter, you'll need to be a follower of this blog and leave a comment below. To double your chances, leave a comment at my article for examiner.com about vintage floral frogs. Both frogs are circa World War I. In the interests of full disclosure, the grid frog has a slight dent in one side. (Hey, it's free.)
